Sounds like you need to get your money back, or to get things fixed.
In Queensland you can sue somebody like that for abou $50 in the small claims tribunal.
This is equivalent info for NSW: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/ftw/Consumers/Buying_services.page?21 Oct 2014 at 10:56 am in reply to: For sale: Citroen 2CV Charleston 1986 in classic Burgundy-Black – Sydney #987JohnKeymasterCongratulations, long journey following the dream, but got it in the end 🙂

JohnKeymasterCan the 2CV Pomona trippers please meet at 7.30am at the last servo on Gympie road before you hit the Bruce Highway.
JohnKeymasterThanks, Viking, I’ll pass it on.
JohnKeymasterI’ll see whether I can find out some more worthwhile news. For the moment, review this message:
https://2cv.com.au/showthread.php/247-Raid-Australia?p=797&viewfull=1#post797JohnKeymasterThis is a message from Jost from Germany:
Hi John,
time is speeding and we need to get prepared for Raid 2016 to make this adventure happen.
So far there are no news and I think there must be a written schedule before end of this year.
Especially the European raiders need a bit of time to get organized.
I prefer to have a meeting point at Alice Springs to go north and further to Queensland or WA.
So far nothing is decided yet, but I hope to make it possible to come again to Australia at the end of this year.
My van is still at Chris place in Perth and I like to work on the car to leave it after a tour in raid-ready condition.
It will be easy for me to fly back from Alice and to leave the AZU 250 again at the Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice.
Please let me know, who will be organizing the next Raid and when we can expect a clear timetable and schedule for this event.
I looking forward to see you again and I’m happy about any life sign from your side.A big cheers, Jost.
JohnKeymasterHere is a reply from Bruce:
Generally when the chassis has been replaced the numbers are re-stamped just under the right cylinder head on the chassis; if there are none there, if he removes the seats and floor mat, there should be a plate on the metal just inside the chassis rail, it should be visible with the seats are out. Failing that you can buy the plate from Der Franzose and be clever and buy or borrow some punches and do your own using the import info, as I had to do with the Ami, you should copy another from another car though to make sure it’s in the right place. I will see if I can find a photo.

JohnKeymasterI’d never heard of it and so I Goggled it. Here is some more info if people are interested to find out a bit more about this book:

[It looks from the photo you just filled up with diesel 🙂 ]JohnKeymasterSinds we allemaal even Nederlands spreken, zou ik wel willen vragen om uw Aussie vrienden op de hoogte te houden met fotoos en dergelijke van uw trip.
For the English speaking mob: I just asked Caroline and Daan and Mike and Annette to keep us up to date with their adventures 🙂 -
