From the seller:Citroen 2CV 6 Special, made in 1985 (apparently the last year Citroen made the 2CV). Right-hand drive from the UK, one owner there who seldom drove her.
Imported by specialist in the Sunshine Coast Qld, who fitted her out to Australian standards. Then purchased by me in Sydney, from a Citroen dealership, when she had done 14,000km.
I have taken care of her since then, always garaged, seldom driven, regularly serviced. Transported her down to Melbourne carefully on a truck. She has been serviced at Citro Motors Collingwood, where Mel has “rarely seen a 2CV in as good a condition”. Apparently good Ducks are getting rarer and rarer these days in Australia.
PRESSE means ‘pressed (for time)’ – in a hurry. Of course she rarely is… that’s the gag. It’s the car for a beautiful day in the wineries, a pique-nique, or turning heads around town. She always has admirers… be prepared to chat about her.
Her condition is very good. She’s a little old now so you’d expect the odd imperfection, but she’s never been in a smash, or been hailed on. She is rust-free. She runs well… the only issue I ever have is that because she’s not driven, she takes a bit of care to start after a month. 🙂 But don’t we all! I do turn the battery power off whilst she’s garaged. Otherwise, she goes well, and she’s very mechanically sound. She had fresh tyres (genuine Michelin) last year. She’s never been smoked in. I’ve never used her for rallies (as some Citroen owners do with their 2CVs – she’s to beautiful to bash around).
I’ve put Thule roof rack fittings on the car for when I used to go mountain biking. I’ll throw those roof racks in (not pictured).
This is a beautiful car and I’ll be sad to lose her, but I am moving interstate and need a fresh start. Hopefully she will find a wonderful new someone to look after her.
Bidders welcome to come and have a look before auction end (Collingwood Vic). Bon chance!
