Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the comments, in fact I was just playing around and noticed that the rubber fuel line to the pump was touching the inside of the mudguard, no trouble, whip the guard off and align the fuel line into the carriers on the side of the chassis and, voila!
You are very welcome to come up, we were talking about ging to one of the local beaches, taking out the seats and relaxing, we have a great dane and he is yet to experience the cheveaux! You can see him on our facebook site, oldconvent cobargo.
Regards
My names is Michael and I am now the owner of this little beauty. I bought her from tasmanisle as the countryside where he lives is not well suited to her.
She is indeed 425cc and, while she would not be competitive in hill-climbs, she does cove the country remarkably well.
For example, I travel from Sydney to Wollongong from time to time and she has only taken around 15 mins longer than a modern car.
When I first got her she was not happy to start and insisted on a sniff of ether to get her out of bed. The problem was largely electrical as nails had been substituted for connectors to the bobine. A further starting problem was due to residue in the jets and fuel line – my guess is that she hadn’t been used enough.
At an average of 6.9 ltrs/100km, fuel economy is pretty good considering it is mostly in Sydney driving between red lights. On the open road, however, at around 85kph with the throttle open wide that drops to 5.8 ltrs/100km.
She is used as my daily drive attracts an enormous amount of interest and is pretty much tantrum-free.
Wonderful to see that Rob’s 2CV has found an appreciative and enthusiastic new owner.
Michael – if you use “bobine” for coil, can I deduce that you a first-language French speaking?
Whether so or not, may I wish you a Joyeux Noël !
Geoff, Adelaide.
Congrats are in order here, nice to see that Rob’s baby has been adopted successfully.
Non je ne suis pas français, mais il est utile de comprendre un peut de la langue pour les manuels
Joyeux Noel a tous.
Michael
