What are the first steps when your fuel gauge needle dies? Give me some handy hints, please, before I have to take the tank down! Thank you!
Happens to me quite often when you play around with the back seat. Have a look behind or under your back seat and see whether there is a connection loose.
Sorry I couldn’t join you this year for Christmas lunch! Couldn’t you come down to my place next year? I’m a chef, living in a five bedroom castle – I could spoil you all!
My 2cv is 1990 – no inspection hole! What colour is the cable to the front – and how does it run – how can I find it just for a voltage test? Ordered a new gauge and sender set – know that I have to take the tank down soon!
Thank you for your help!

Sounds like a great invitation for some time next year (oops, this year I mean). Should be a great drive from Brisbane as well, maybe down via Springbrook and back via Rathdowney.
I’ll get a picture of the petrol gauge connection tomorrow for you.
Here are the pics of the fuel gauge connection:

what that wire was sticky-taped to the rear fender! Some old models had indicators high up the back – I remember! Will check it out tomorrow!
It would be a fantastic event to invite the ducks down here to my place! The drive over the Lions Road is as spectacular as challenging for our little machines – always leaves you with a sense of pride!

John!
That was the best advice I ever got!
Showed me how little I know – even this is my fifth 2CV!
Thank you for your help, my Friend!
No worries 🙂
