Lookout out for the Lookouts

I am in the throws of organising a Club run for SATURDAY the 21st. November to replace the Mary R. Run which was to be held before the end of the year. Time seems to have put a closure to that event. Don’t worry though dear members who have hinted, asked, & almost begged for another run of the ever popular Mary River Run, I am planning to hold the 4th. running of this scenic event next year in one of the cooler months, not the middle of winter though.

I have chosen, with the ok of a few club members, to have this ‘in lieu of’ event on a SATURDAY to save the Brissyites from the mad procession back home on Sunday arvo. If you have camping gear or c’van then you’re welcome to arrive at our place Friday, even stay Saturday night as well if you so desire. Swag on the veranda? Maybe you could seek out a Motel in the area, ring & ask me for ph. no’s if you need.

This drive visits two or three scenic lookouts so we can cast our peekers over the northern end of the Sunshine Coast. It is likely you haven’t ever been to these lookouts. One of them gives a 360’ view of Noosa & it’s hinterland, yesterday we could, even with the naked eye, see Brissy. It is I recon the best view of Noosa / Lake Cootharaba area. There are couple a short stretches of good dirt road.

Date_____SATURDAY 21st. Nov.

Time_____8.30 for 9 am start. There is a fair bit of ground to cover before late lunch.

Where_____Meet just off the h’way, 300 or 400 mt. or so along Yandina Rd. EXIT #215. Sunshine Coast map 46 G8. There’s a grassy area on left in front of somebodys front gate at the 60 sign.

Facilities___Each lookout has toilets & tables. Lunch lookout also has two wood BBQ’s, I’ll make sure there’ll be firewood.

Directions____I will have simple written instructions & or follow the leader. Most of the drive is covered in late,’07> Refidex.
