Hi, just wondering if someone can advise me what a fair price is for a 1985 2CV6 Charleston. It’s clean and tidy, on original chassis, speedo reads 24,000 (so I’m assuming 124,000 miles), currently registered (ie roadworthy!), has a couple of superficial dings, one obvious spot of bog 15 cm below fuel filler (size approx 6x6cm) and no other signs of serious rust. Driver floor panel appears to be replaced. It’s RHD, paint is okay-good and so is the hood. Owner has only had it a year and is selling because his family doesn’t like it. Owner thought it was a 1970 model but chassis number suggests 1985 (and badge says Charleston!). The car doesn’t have service history so am assuming motor and gearbox haven’t been rebuilt. Any ideas of what the car is worth on the current market? Thanks, Tom
Hi Tom, I’d say anywhere 12-16K? What did the seller pay for it a year ago? I would say it should be about the same now if no work is done and no major deterioration (which is unlikely in such a short time)
It is almost impossible to price a 2CV without seeing it (a photo would be helpful) If chassis is buggered (rusting from inside out) the price is much lower. I would guess anything from 8 kilos up to 18.000 (if very good on new chassis) I think the record is 40.000 kilos sold on auction in Sydney some years ago, near new rare yellow Charleston.
