Hello folks, I have been looking at purchasing a 2CV for some time however am really nervous as its a huge investment for me. Does any of your group often sell or know of reliable vehicles for sale within the state? I have in the past driven lots of klms to view vehicle only to find its a rusty headache lol. I am not after the best beauty of the show or the flashiest rebuild of the century – Just a good solid issue free vehicle that i can actually use not just to sit it in a showroom floor.

Any advice is hugely appreciated .

PS i particularly love the bamboo green ones lol and i am in Far North Qld

    Good day Cindi,

After 14 years of daily driving ownership I am planning to pass my 2CV on to a new owner. At 74 yrs I no longer enjoy the cut and thrust of increasingly heavy traffic which does not leave me relaxed. The 1988 car was privately imported from Ireland in 1995. I am its third owner.

I have installed 123 electronic ignition and a new starter motor. The car was repainted last Christmas in white and Bamboo Green. It has new tyres on the front and 80% tread on the rear. It has recently had new front wheel bearings and kingpins. Four years ago I fitted new cylinders and pistons. The compression is even on both cylinders. It goes well , able to cruise at 110 kph on the highway. It is not concourse but is in good condition and has been used for its original purpose of comfortable, reliable transport. If you are interested please contact me on 0422981908. I am happy to send many photos via email. I live in Toowoomba.

    Thank you,

    Ian Feeney
