Hi everybody.
I got the following request from Monika in Berlin, so please contact me if you can help, I will pass on your message:Dear John,
after hours of trying to find out the webadress of a 2CV club in
Western Australia I have given up.
Each adress I found was not accessible.
I own a white 2CV built in 1987 which I bought in 1989. I drive it
all year round mostly in Berlin, Germany and surroundings, but
have been to France, Denmark Sweden, Scotland and Norway, too.
I was really surprised to find out at the World Meeting in Kelso
that there are even 2 CVs driving around in Australia!
So as I am planning to visit Western Australia in November I would
be very glad to get into contact with one or two enthusiasts.Do you have any information about web adresses or email adresses
of 2CV drivers in Western Australia?Hope to hear from you soon!
Best regards
Monika FriedewaldMonika is also offering some Berliner insight to any Ozzies visiting:
Hi John,
Up to now I have been to Australia twice and travelled along the “normal” tourist routes at the east coast, travelled the Kimberleys with a group, went to the Red Center and Coober Pedy by Camper van, travelled the area of Melbourne and Tasmania by car, travelled up and down in Western Australia by a “normal car”.
I always met very friendly people which made me longing back to this fantastic country! Therefore:
My offer to you and all 2CV fans in Australia is:
Whenever you plan to visit Berlin, Germany, please let me know!
I would like to show you around, giving you insights into German living, Berlin seen through the eyes of an insider, or just having fun by visiting places around Berlin by 2CV.
Unfortunately, we are no longer allowed to drive our cars within the centre of Berlin if we are driving the original version of the 2CV. Too much CO2, they say….
But as Berlin not only consists of “The Centre” there is many space left for driving our cars.
As I am not living in the very centre but about 10 km away from the famous Kurfürstendamm I am allowed to drive the car all over Berlin but the radius of about 5 km around Kurfürstendamm.
So I can reach my working place, the flats of various friends a.s.o. by my own car and of course many touristic sights.
If I want to reach another point within the “forbidden zone” I can easily use public traffic which is very effective and runs every 3-5 minutes.
I would really like to welcome every Aussi (2CV fan or not..) who intends to visit our town!If you want to talk to someone who knows a lot about 2CVs (and is able to do all the mechanical works)- I know the right person
If you want to visit the surroundings of Berlin – I can drive you there.
If you want to visit special places without being surrounded by hundreds of tourists – I can drive you there.
If you want to drive my 2CV, just show me that you know how to handle the car, let me (or my friend) be your passenger and we can go wherever you want…(within a reasonable radius around Berlin), I can even arrange a French or German inspired picnic or a restaurant stop on request..
Even if you come as a couple and one of you is interested in 2CV mechanics and the other would like to experience for example concerts, ballett and other non 2CV things as visiting local markets, wellness institutions, the botanical gardens or museums, I can arrange this, even if you wish a personalized company. If you want to get into contact with somebody who is living in Berlin for 23 years and is driving a 2CV for 21 years -get into contact with me!
If you only want to see the touristic highlights of Berlin- visit another website
Please give all these informations to your club members
I really hope to welcome one of you within the next few months(or years)Best regards

There are approx 80-100 A series in WA that I know of. Details can be found here http://www.citroenwa.com
