KeymasterShame the site is not available in English (yet).
Available in Dutch, German, French and Spanish.
We all know the French and the English don’t always get on too well, but at least they could translate the site into Australian :p.
Maybe a job for you, 2CViking?Anybody planning to go?

ParticipantLorraine has been in touch with the president a long time friend way back when she bought her first 2cv and formed a 2cv club in France. Christian Courte explains that the person translating to English is a bit slack (he must be Australian) 😀 but it’s underway.
Naturally we are going, just a small trip down the road from us. Any Aussie are welcome to stay we us in Brittany14 Mar 2010 at 9:13 pm #319John

As you well know, there is a big difference between “relaxed” and “slack” :p !
I am thinking (dreaming? – hoping?) of going.
I rather avoid July and August in Europe because there are a few too many holiday-ers at that time. It must be because I am so used to being slack, Oops, I mean relaxed, over here.I guess they’d be expecting 5000 cars since it is in France?

ParticipantI reckon there is an 80% chance of being in Salbris in 2011. I am sure it will be a Big one!
(We are going to paris this year for 6 weeks mid June + all july.)
I am lucky to have a friend here in Oz who also owns an apartment in Paris and I have already “tagged” the apartment for around the Salbris period.
I have been secreting a “camping kit” in his downstairs Cave…so that I have “permanent” local access to it.
In the past we have given lots of camping stuff to the red-cross op-shop before returning home with just the good bits such as the Down sleeping bags, Trangia stove etc.I guess I will have to go to the local Paris Europcar agent and hire a little sh*tbox to get to Salbris…I don’t think they do Citroens …but I will check that out this year.
Sweden WM was fine ‘cos we had a tourist-plated C4 for a couple of months whilst we ripped around Europe…but the last thing you need in Paris is a car!Cheers

Another 500 pre-reg at Retromobile, apparently, so ~4500 pre-reg – which makes this already the biggest WM so far – NL was about 4000, IIRC!

Within the ACI’s Annual General Meeting 2011 held last weekend, the 2CV World Meeting 2011 organizational team has provided some updates from their latest preparation of *the* leading Citroën enthusiasts event this year – the figures of the “ACI Event Of The Year” are really stunning:* more than 6.000 cars are expected,
* ca. 11.000 – 15.000 participants,
* several thousand daily visitors,
* more than 350 volunteerssome excerpts from the hightly attractive event agenda:
* A 1300m² indoor 2 CV Museum with extraordinary cars displayed
* On-site garage for emergency repairs
* Temporary FM radio : “Radio Deux Chevaux” with music, info and news in French and foreign languages
* A “zero fossil fuel” challenge for cars running on alternate fuels (electricity, NGV, pantone system, fuel cells etc.)
* Markt, Show & Animation, Live Music, Dancefloor, “guinguette”, Rallyes, and and and …The 2CV event organisation was represented by Christian Courte (Head of organisation) Fred Ozog (communications), Joel Landeroin (president of the French 2CV Clubs Association) and Xavier Audran (International affairs) who received a big applause from the stunning audience of ACI Delegates.
The number of registrations is also exponentially growing: more than 4000 registrations from more than 31 countries were counted beginning of February – and there are still several months to come!
Their more detailed presentation, covering detailed forecasts for the 2011 2CV world meeting, views from the event site, the program, infrastructure, website and other news and statistics -> can be downloaded here.
Enjoy – and do not miss this event you gonna talk about for years to come!
Best Regards,

KeymasterWow, that’s something not to be missed! But most of us, will I guess.

ParticipantI just knew it would be a Big one!

We will be in Paris (actually, Levallois..just on the edge of the Peripherique…opp. the 17e….and the original site of the 2cv factory!) for a couple of months Jun/Jul/Aug.
