For one reason or another, RACQ must have forgotten that the French Car Clubs always organise the Grand Display the closest Sunday to Bastille Day, and organised Motorfest on the same day. It’ll be tough to make up your mind where to go!
Every year the local Citroen, Peugeot, Renault & Simca Car Clubs organise the Grand Display of classic & modern French Vehicles. The show is held at the Brookfield Pony Club Showgrounds, Brookfield Rd, Brookfield, in Brisbane. Everyone Welcome – you don’t need to belong to a club to park your pride and joy for a couple of hours or the whole day!
The RACQ MotorFest 2010 will be held at Eagle Farm Racecourse, Lancaster Road, Hamilton.
Gates should open at 10am and the event finishes at 3pm with a parade of all the cars.
General public entry is by donation to the RACQ Helicopter Rescue Network. On-site parking at the venue and Doomben Racecourse will be available for $5 per vehicle. A regular free shuttle bus will run between Doomben Racecourse and Eagle Farm.
This apparently is Brisbane’s largest showcase of vintage, veteran, classic and special interest vehicles.
800 collectible cars will be on display, and a full menu of entertainment will be provided.
The 2CV Club of Queensland will also be entering a few cars probably.
